Graston Technique

Graston Technique is a type of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.  Soft tissue supports and connects the structures and organs of the body.  Muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and fibrous tissue are all examples of soft tissue.  Overuse or trauma may cause soft tissue tightness to develop.  In a Graston treatment, specially designed instruments are used to loosen restrictions in the affected soft tissues.  The goal of a Graston treatment is to improve flexibility and decrease pain as an important adjunct to the patient’s rehabilitation.  We have the Graston instruments and Graston certified Physical Therapists on staff.  The picture below shows a Graston instrument being used to relieve lower leg tightness.
